Hi All,

I am new to this forum after some helpful advice from the Computer forensic subReddit to try this forum and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction?

I completed my MSc in Computer Forensics back in November 2014 and have since been looking out for not only a Job within Computer Forensics but Voluntary work as well.

Reasons why I was aiming at Voluntary work and not jumping straight into full time work is that it would help me keep up to date with the Computer Forensic world but also gain skills to move into permanent employment (as there doesn't appear to be many jobs) as I have already got a decent job as a developer (and been here for over 7 years) so jumping into unknown waters as I reply on my wage every month could be risky (ish).

As I am based in South Wales, I have emailed numerous places in South Wales and Bristol areas as these are all commutable for me and as I already work in Bristol, this area would be handy after work etc. however, I have had Zero luck.

I even attended a Security Cleared / Cyber Security Expo in April of this year to meet with companies but again, not a great result. I have seen on Monster and Indeed Computer forensic jobs but If I update my CV and apply to any of these listing I get bombarded by Recruitment agencies (I hate them) about non related computer forensic work.

Im a little stuck as to what to proceed with and When cyber security specialist comes back around in September from National Grid, I will try them but I would really love to get into something as this is the area I am very very interested in.

If anyone has any other help, it would be amazing )

I'm having the same issues, I've just completed an MCOMP (integrated Masters) and I too am looking around the same areas.

Having moved within the last 5 months I cannot afford to move again and I don't want to move my kids from the schools they are currently in.

It seems to me though that all the jobs and grad positions are based around the Midlands and London and not much popping up within 2 hours of home (

Good luck with your job search
