A scratch on the surface research paper for those interested; done by students in late 2015 at the University of South Wales, UK

http//medwinpublishers.com/IJFSC/IJFSC-MS-ID-000101.pdf

One in a series of papers to develop open-source tools and capability. A blind study will be repeated in the last quarter of 2016 by students on 5 recovered OEM systems from differing manufacturers. Research case studies available in the future for LEA (late 2016) include UK BMW, Nissan, Ford and Lexus units. Research support welcomed and encouraged from the community.

Worthy of note in the USA are Berla Corporation for a software product that supports a wide range of units in the US market.

If interested further in the aforementioned research work please email isrg1@southwales.ac.uk

Thank you.

Are Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Inmarsat and Mobileye also part of the research domain? We here have longtime research with all players mentioned. Three VAG hacked car cases solved - hacked mostly over messaging from IMSI-catching.

Thanks "gn47isrg" for positing this.

Rolf was your hack over IMSI able to access the vehicle control system or any of the event logs generated?

Very happy to support the community where we can "badgerau".

@ "Rolfgutmann" we do indeed have some aftermarket units and are looking into Apple and Android systems. Would love to talk offline if you are interested and able to.

These both need some significant updating but here is an idea of what we like to get into as a research group at the University of South Wales

Thank you.
