Why those?

Go X-Ways if anything. its far cheaper, way faster, and generally all around better for most everything you will be doing

Please consider the following tools

1) OSForensics by Passmark (http//www.osforensics.com/) US $799.00

A very powerful tool, with password cracking capabilities, RAID rebuilding capabilities, full text indexing, forensic imaging, image mounting, etc. Passmark keeps on developing this tool.

2) Autopsy / SleuthKit (http//www.sleuthkit.org/autopsy/download.php) Free

Another powerful tool that can ingest Android backups

3) DEFT Linux (http//www.deftlinux.net/download/) Free

Around 80+ tools for free. A very detailed support manual with step by step usage instructions. Also see Sumuri Paladin, and Kali Linux Forensic Edition (also free Linux forensic distros).

DEFT was very helpful when I had a case involving the analysis of a Linux based FTP server. I also use DEFT regularly for forensic imaging projects and Win-UFO tools built in to the Windows side of the ISO file.

6) Caine

but we con go on forever like this …

However the 1 year license for X-Ways should be within the budget, and I believe you can learn a lot of things in 1 year of using the tool, the only risk I can see is the "limited replace device" policy
