Forensic Services Team - Quality Manager - London

Post Posted: Wed Jan 04, 2017 10:18 am

As you can imagine, Forensic Services is an integral part of the Met. We make a significant contribution to London’s safety, through wide-ranging technical and scientific expertise. This is a chance for a talented Quality Manager to make a valuable contribution to our management system, represent our vast force at national committees and influence the quality landscape in forensic services across England and Wales.

You’ll team up with two talented Quality Managers who work closely with all aspects of forensics, from crime scene examination and specialist imaging, to evidence recovery, digital and fingerprint comparison. Whether you’ve worked in this field or not, you’ll know what it takes to design, implement and maintain our quality management systems. As you take the lead on quality-related issues, you’ll advise on the most appropriate implementation methods to be used for compliance against standards, liaise with external parties (such as suppliers and accreditation bodies), raise quality awareness and conduct audits. Always, you’re looking for continual improvement as we expand our ISO 17025 scope and start work on ISO 17020.

With an in-depth knowledge of establishing and maintaining quality management systems (particularly accredited to ISO 17025), you can interpret international standards and determine the most appropriate methodology. A natural problem-solver, you’ll have the interpersonal skills to gel quickly with the team and get results.

To apply, please visit our website to download a role-specific information pack and application form. Completed applications must be returned by 19th January 2017.

Please note we are only able to review the first 30 applications received.

We view diversity as fundamental to our success. To tackle today’s complex policing challenges, we need a workforce made up from all of London’s communities. Applications from across the community are therefore essential.

You will receive £36,939 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £41,811 will be via incremental progression

Interesting approach Confused , I would guess that using a Bingo machine to extract 30 submission at random would be however slightly more ISO 17025 compliant. Rolling Eyes

Second iteration Wink :
I'm sorry Mr. Wozniak, Mr. Gates, and Mr. Torvalds, you were all applications number 31-33, we initially excluded you from the selection, though - following indirect advice by Mr. amresl - we decided to nonetheless review your submissions.
Unfortunately upon examination of your curricula we determined that all or the vast majority of your previous achievements are in direct contrast with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025, let alone 17020, and we can't use your help.

And:
To Mr. Torvalds only Twisted Evil
... additionally, while we overall appreciate your overall frankness, we are afraid that past demonstrations of your interpersonal skills make you not qualified for the job.
