Hi Mark,
I'm going on the theory that the lecturer wouldn't expect you to have a Cray supercomputer at home trying to brute force a password for xx years.
I'd think I would have missed something and ...

Hi Andy,
I believe the iPaq uses Pocket PC and this may be a problem when trying to use free tools as the ones I've found seem to work only with Palm OS (pdd etc).

Although I'm not sure how you were transferring files from your hard drive to the external drive (dd or just drag & drop etc) my thought is that with all your various attempts to recover the files ...
