Is there an open source alternative to Norton's Diskedit?
Thanks for any answers! 😯

Norton's Disk Edit is pretty ancient. What is it you are trying to achieve?

Thanks, but on the website for LDE it states
lde is a disk editor for linux
I am looking for an open source DiskEditor that can be used on FAT, NTFS disks (Windows), too, not just to read/write to Linux disks.
I am taking a Forensics course and they refer to Norton's Diskedit, but I don't have Diskedit and unsure of if it is still sold. And I am sure there is an open-source alternative, but don't know of it yet.
Bobby,
This link is to a whole bunch of free utilities. One of them is a sector editor which should work for you.

Thank you!

Bobby,
For what it's worth, Diskedit is still available on Ebay. You can buy an older version of Norton Utilities which includes Diskedit. The prices are good (but not as good as the freeware price!).
Yes, Diskedit is ancient, but is an excellent teaching tool.
