Hi,
i'm looking for resources about the Protected Storage area for a sort of research. We know that there are a lot of tools to "read" it's content (by the way, i've tested many tools but only one allow to import an external Protected Storage from a registry file Secret Explorer. Do you know other tools?) , but i'm just curious to understand what kind of encryption is used in this area to store data.
Thanks

I believe AccessData's FTK can decrypt the Protected Storage information from an image.

Windows Secret Explorer will also handle the Windws Protected Storage Area quite well.
