Computer Forensic Analyst - Law Enforcement

This major law enforcement organisation require a Computer Forensic Analyst to work on a varied case load of often high-profile cases in a laboratory containing equipment of the very highest standard.  This organisation is an exciting place to be and your personal development is a real priority.  There are tremendous opportunities to become involved in research projects covering a wide range of areas and you will also be encouraged to regularly attend technical/court training as well as have the opportunity to follow longer learning programmes such as an Msc in Computer Forensics. 

On a daily basis you will identify, collect and analyse digital evidence, ensuring that all casework documentation is completed in order to prepare concise statements and technical reports on all activities undertaken.  You will provide technical advice and support at crime scenes as and when required and attend courts when called on to give evidence. 

To be successful in this position, you must have strong inter-personal skills and the ability to work as a key member of a successful Team, quickly winning the confidence of colleagues and customers. 

You will have a good knowledge of computer hardware, software and related technology required for the examination and forensic analysis of computer equipment (a strong knowledge of at least EnCase & FTK is essential).  You will also have a practical knowledge of legislation applicable to computer investigative work, e.g, Computer Misuse Act, Police Criminal Evidence Act etc together with legislation relating to the seizure, handling and presentation of evidence.
