Higher education

Being a forensic obviously takes a lot of time and hard work and I am wondering where I should start? I was thinking about taking an Open University course but I'm not sure which IT course would be a good start.

Those are great places to start. Also be sure to take practical courses in hardware...even if it means going outside the school to other places, such as A+ and Network+ certifications.

I once worked at a company where one of the forensics guys got his start working at the helpdesk at Best Buy. He was a really good Python programmer, too.
