Hi all

Does anyone know what the Hotlist entries are on blackberry handsets. There seem to be about 30 entries and are extracted as part of the call register. I have tried to call RIM for an answer but they asked for $45 for the advice ?

Regards

I think the hotlist entries are the recent calls list. I don't know for sure, but I remember seeing that somewhere. I'll keep looking…

Okay, after looking some more, it appears as though the Hotlist is actually the recent calls list. This list can contain phone numbers that have been both recently dialed and received (including those calls where the call was dialed and disconnected before someone answered and where the call was received but never answered). Hope that helps!

Ok I just came across this on the blackberry site

How to Share Your Address Book

To share contacts with a paired Bluetooth enabled car kit, complete the following steps on the BlackBerry device

1. On the BlackBerry device Home screen, click Options > Bluetooth.
2. Display the menu and click Options.
3. Set the Address Book Transfer field to one of the following options
* All Entries - Share all the contacts in your BlackBerry device address book
* Hotlist Only - Share contacts that you have had contact with recently over the phone

Note When paired with a Bluetooth enabled device that is not a car kit, the Address Book Transfer field can only be set to Enabled or Disabled.
4. Display the menu and click Save.

So the Hotlist are contacts that you have had contact with recently over the phone.

I was of the belief (after doing some research on test phones and from seeing it many times on evidential handsets) that it was "Often Used" numbers.

The timestamps attached to them appear to be the last time that number was in contact with that handset - whether incoming or outgoing. (Almost always out by a second for some reason.)

Just my .02
