We plan to invest in a new field of all aspects of Bluetooth in-field and in-lab measurement. All equipment has to be mobile first and outdoor capable. As more and more IoT is connected we have a new rule Dont Miss Bluetooth! DMB!
Who can give advice related to hard- and softtware? Who knows Apps to measure (like inSSIDer)?
One aspect we still struggle. BLE can be everywhere and it needs a strategy to find.
Who can help? Thank you.
Wireless Cables Inc. by Juergen Kienhoefer offers excellent and well documented BT hardware.
However, there's little point in measuring Bluetooth with connectivity hardware. BT (or Wifi) chipsets are not designed to give more than a rough estimate of the signal strength, and mostly they are integrated without any care about further degrading effects on this capability. Nothing can replace a DSA.
Thank you C.R.S. - great hint
The DSA of course is the only way to get 'the full picture'. Actually we may invest in a SIGLENT SSA3032X but mobile power is always the crux.

On the other side we evaluate the ComPro SODERA for pre-connection traffic

Do you have either in use?
