Senior Digital Forensic Examiner - London

Salary

£37,139 - £44,361

Senior Digital Forensic Examiners are required to take the lead on a range of digital forensic matters, acting as subject matter experts in order to provide technical assistance and guidance to non-technical staff in order that digital material can be obtained and reviewed effectively.

The post holder will have responsibility for the management and delivery of day to day tasks undertaken by analysts and investigators on a variety of Computer Forensic media, providing clear and concise details of progress and findings. They will be required to provide reports and updates to the Head of Unit in a timely manner, including presenting findings, developments and recommendations regarding digital material.

The post also involves the management, training, supervision and development of DFU forensic investigators and analysts.



Person specification

Essential
• Experience of leading and managing a team to deliver against specific corporate objectives
• Extensive knowledge of digital media, operating systems, storage and hardware
• Knowledge of ISO17025 standards and ACPO Guidelines and the importance of them to digital forensics
• Experience and knowledge of handling digital material and acquiring data to an evidential standard
• Experience of liaising with and preparing written reports or summaries for presentation to senior stakeholders
• Good organisational and time-management skills

Desirable
• Knowledge/experience of introducing new policies and procedures into a digital forensic environment.
• Experience of working in a Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice environment
• Knowledge of programming languages including: Perl, C#, .Net, EnScripts, Python, SQL.
• Experience of developing and training staff to improve knowledge and skills in particular areas
• Experience of working in service delivery environment



Qualifications


• Computer or Digital Forensics related degree and/or extensive experience as a Digital Forensic Investigator
• Certification and demonstrable experience of using one or more of the following forensic tools: EnCase), Nuix), Cellebrite), XRY, FTK or similar
