Hello experts community,
i'm looking for any idea to setup an offline platform to manage digital case (
I found teeltech solution "xBit"but if not freeware and may be not even modular as wish.
So, does anyone know a solution, open source, based on any database , and could be editable to add/customise fields ?
With also many functions
- Inventory
- Search engine
- Logs
- Chain of custody
- Acces control
May be there isn't solution specifically appropriate to our job in digital forensics, but one of them may be customizable to make the job.
Thank for your replies.
So in the UK you have a couple, some still in production as well, all paid solutions.
LIMA from intaforensics - pretty awful system but it will aid in basic logging etc and help with ISO 17025. Its a sad state when using bad software helps pass a pointless standard but I digress.
There is another system from Magnet, though I think its still in production it looks promising.
There is one more that I cannot remember the name of, but used by NCA (don't let that put you off) and some other forces. Think its black rainbow.
The one from magnet is called atlas. It was a product before they bought it.
Foreman is free open source and web based written in python I think.
Tracker Products works very well but is not inexpensive
LIMA isn't great in so far as it cumbersome to set up and use, your workflow generally has to fit to it rather it being adaptable to you and some of the default fields and behaviour are bizarre but you can make some tweaks which have made it workable for us.
Not used ATLAS, though if it's anything like AXIOM i would image its a fairly seamless process. Would be interesting to see a proper demo of it.
As a few have mentioned on the thread, we do indeed offer Magnet ATLAS. It's a powerful tool for case management while being simple to use. You can learn a lot more about it over at our website http//
If you're interested in a demo, we'd be happy to facilitate one. Just fill out the form here to get started http//
