Hi all,
I'm looking into taking the 508 course via the OnDemand option with work and then do the GCFA cert.
I can't seem to find an estimate on the number of content hours/study time for the course.
Does anyone have a rough estimate on that?
Well the course is 9-530 or so for 5 days.
Account for about 2 hours of breaks throughout the day.
Then it's just how long you want to take to get through the workbook.
I'd highly recommend using the controls in the video player to speed it up too. At least 2x to get through it faster!
Cheers, that make sense, so roughly 40 odd hours plus additional study time.
The GCFA recommends at least 55 hours additional. Which would be around two weeks of work hours.
It depends
1) How many forensic techniques you already have under your belt that are taught in FOR508.
2) Do you intend to just do enough to pass GCFA or extract all the juice from the course.
FOR508 is jam-packed with good forensic techniques and IMHO you need to spend some time brainstorming. You can extract dozens of items for further research and playbooks for your day job.
