Good morning everyone,

I am the Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) of the Cyber Investigations & Forensic Analysis Unit, with the Department of Energy, Office of Inspector General. We are looking for a qualified candidate to work with our unit as a Special Agent, Federal job series 1811, to work out of either our Richland, Washington, or Denver, Colorado field office.

This position is open to both federal employees and the general public. If you are a mature, independent, self-starter with a good work ethic, we would love to see anyone who fits the qualifications apply for this position.

Everything you need to know about the position is in the job announcement, and relocation expenses are NOT authorized for this position.

We have a great work life balance in our unit, and telework is available. If this sounds like something you might be interested in and qualified for, hit that APPLY button and see where the rabbit hole takes you!

Good luck!!

You forgot to mention that the maximum age to apply is 37.

Presumably because the job calls for obtaining the computers by force and defeating the recalcitrant bits with feats of strength?

"Special" agent in the U.S. means armed with a gun. I would suggest that the application requirements are at odds with the job skills.

I'm sure this will add to more complaints about the lack of available cyber skilled people. The gun and age thing will be ignored.

Yes I'm in a mood. I encountered the same thing years ago with the Post Office of all places and it's become a hot button.
