Is anyone out there enrolled in the George Washington University masters program in Forensics (High Tech Crime) at the Arlington, Virginia campus. If so, how do you like it? Are you already working in the field?

I am in my last semester in the program. If you are looking for something very technical then it is not the program for you. There has been some learning curves for the program since it is new. It used to be a MA in criminal justice, computer fraud investigations. It doesn't give you as much forensic classes as you would probably like and does give you a lot of other fluff classes like risk management, secuirty management and protection of information systems. I think it may continue to grow and become a better program but I don't recommend it to anyone who wants a lot of hands on computer forensic classes because there are only a few.

Have you been able to make any contacts through this grad program (ie prospective jobs)? I was told that many of the staff and students are working in the field.

You are very correct in terms of the staff and students. I am relocating so I have not had the opportunities that some of the students have had locally in finding jobs. Many students in the program have switched careers since entering and there have been a lot of interesting internship opportunities. Most of the teachers work in the field and are very connected, mainly in the local area. I have met wonderful people in terms of other students and some of the faculty. All in all it has been good. There have been some disappointments in terms of the curriculum but I have made some wonderful friends and connections.
