Hi Folks,

I am currently looking to train my team in regards to data recovery and audio video forensics. I had a hard time looking for well known bodies to certify our team.

Has anyone participated or earned a well known certificate for Data Recovery and Audio Video Forensics? I would love to hear from you.

A vendor neutral company that provides good training and certification and cover various areas in regards to DR and AV forensics.

Thanks.

Although not vendor neutral I recommend Amped Software for video forensics training. They run two courses geared around their two flagship products,Amped Five and Amped Autheticate which I also highly recommend. Their products do not currently support audio forensics but I understand that in the works. http//ampedsoftware.com/

For data recovery I cant recommend Scott Moulton highly enough -http//www.myharddrivedied.com/

Thanks Badgerau for sharing your thoughts, have you heard of

CDRP data recovery certification?

and LEVA Audio and Video Ceritification?
https://leva.org/

Any thoughts on them?

Hmmm ?

I don' t know exactly why, but I have instinctively an alarm bell ringing whenever something is "non-profit" and asks for money (and is not seemingly a charity).

JFYI

Surely Mr. David Renwald is a bit elusive as any search on that name leads to either Infosec or IACRB related promotions, and curiously seemingly noone but him defined publicly him/herself as "Senior Volunteer Exam Proctor" or only "Volunteer Exam Proctor".

About LEVA, (which to be fair provides much more information ) ) to me the "fact sheet" about it's FVRT
https://leva.org/pdfs/FVRT_FACT_SHEET.pdf
together with their last published public document
Best Practices for the Acquisition of DME v3.0 Dated 4/14/2010
https://leva.org/images/Best_Practices-DME_Acquisiton_V_3_0-01-2013.pdf
and with the current lists of certified professionals
https://leva.org/pdfs/certification/CFVA-LIST_041515.pdf
https://leva.org/pdfs/certification/CFVT-LIST_060115.pdf
are enough to have an idea of this highly specialized/elite club, roughly counted we are talking of less than 280 people in all the world listed as certified, including the 36 people from the Singapore Police recently added to the list.
