Quality Assurance Higher Officer [London] £33,388-£37,620

The Digital Support & Innovation (DSI) branch is responsible for the provision of a range of technical and forensic capabilities to the Fraud Investigation Service and the wider HMRC in support of criminal and civil investigations.

Candidates will work as part of Digital Support & Innovation within the Digital Forensic Group (DFG) as part of a 2-person Quality Assurance team. The DFG Laboratories are required to obtain ISO 17025 accreditation and the role of the Quality Assurance Higher Officer/s is to ensure the acquisition and maintenance of ISO 17025 accreditation.

The role of the DFG Quality Assurance Higher Officer involves the following types of tasks:

• Implementing the ISO 17025 standards through maintenance of the DFG Quality Systems, Quality Manual and Standard Operating Procedures;

• Maintaining and monitoring DFG Quality Assurance Documents/ Records;

• Scheduling and undertaking internal quality audits;

• Preparing audit reports that highlight any deficiencies or risks to the business and any areas for improvement;

• Ensuring that actions arising through audits or other routes are assigned to appropriate individuals and completed in a timely manner;

• Coordinating and attending UK Accreditation Service (UKAS) audits;

• Overseeing the resolution of complaints and coordinating responses;

• Monitoring DFG’s training and competency levels;

• Planning and organising reviews of the Quality System, including the performance of tests, the implementation of corrective actions and monitoring of preventive actions;

• Liaising with the DFG Officer-in-Charge, Laboratory Managers and Infrastructure Manager on a regular basis;

• Attending technical meetings as required.

Desirable Skills:

Digital Forensic or laboratory background as a Quality Manager.

Essential Skills:

It is expected that candidates will have:

• An excellent working knowledge of ISO9001, ISO17025 and ILAC G19.

• Knowledge and experience of Health & Safety requirements
Project management/delivery experience.
