Quick question. I'm looking for just a basic hex/text viewer/editor (don't actually need/want to edit hex/text–but if it can, that's fine too) where I can do the following

1. Open and view a file in hex & text side-by-side or just view text or just the hex view (not a high priority)
2. Highlight/Bookmark numerous unique text/hex segments
**3. (most important) Print or export highlighted/bookmarked unique text/hex segments
4. Be able to save those changes and re-open the file with the bookmarks and highlights
**5. Pretty important Prefer program/app that I can use on Mac OS Sierra

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

It was an easy question to answer until I got to #5… not sure what you're looking for exists for Mac OS.

Yeah, didn't really think it'd be that hard to find one, but I'm coming up short.

Maybe ?
http//www.synalysis.net/

Has a 30 day trial and has seemingly a nice "grammar" (what other hex editors call "template" or "structure") feature available, which is something very, very useful when working with hex data.

Not a recommendation or endorsement, mind you, I never actually used it.

I use Hexinator (advertised on the same site). Complicated grammars require gigabytes of memory.

But hexinator, site is here
https://hexinator.com/
is Windows and Linux, not MAC, I believe?

Not yet
https://hexinator.com/hexinator-mac/

But it's the same engine, AFAIK.

Am I missing something–can hexinator bookmark & export or print just the bookmarked data? I can't see where/how to do that, but I've only looked at it for a short bit…
