I am looking to purchase a USB 3.0 write blocker to image USB memory sticks and USB harddrives, including those over 2TB in size.

Does anyone have any experience of both CRU WiebeTech's USB 3.0 Write Blocker and Tableau's T8u Forensic USB 3.0 Write Blocker and can comment as to which is their preference and why. Any other suggestions for a Write Blocker would also be appreciated.

If it helps, I have had problems using Wiebetech's latest write blocker USB 3.0 ver5.5 with Windows 7. It constantly fails on disks with bad sectors on, where their older product v5 works fine. Had no help from CRU the makers of the write blocker, got the usual we can not replicate the problem. Well I can, many times over!
I had to update my acquisition computers to Windows 10 to make them work. (Win 8 also worked)

Honestly, you ignored a request to provide information (a pcap file of USB packets) required to narrow the issue.

Agreed, I did not provide this. Feel free to disregard my comments.

This is not an isolated problem with 1 disk. We were getting this problem with over 20% of the disk received in the unit.
My point is that I would have expected some assistance from the manufacturers, at least in answering my emails or responding to my calls.
