Hello,

I'm currently a student at Northumbria University studying on the MCOMP Digital Forensics course and I've been meaning to post this for a while as my year in industry is coming up after this academic year.

I've been looking at Australia, America and Canada, I've even contacted a few companies but receive no replies to my query.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips for finding work experience abroad or is it worth staying in the UK?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you looked into getting a work visa for any of those countries you want to go to? Each one will be different and it's not as easy to just show up and start working (even as a student/work term for school).

Not sure what the job prospects are in the UK but they're probably similar aboard and you wouldn't have to deal with the work visa hurdle if you stayed in the UK.

Best of luck,
Jamie

There's a whole spectrum of placements in the UK depending on what aspect of Forensics you want to experience, if you want/need to be paid and where you able to move to.

A few companies and police forces in the North East recruit each year. some regional government organisations recruit as well.

In my opinion UK would be the easiest all round.
