FRP Advisory - Data Capture/Forensic Technology Associate - London

As a Forensic practitioner within the field of Forensics and eDisclosure, this is an exciting opportunity to work in a small, experienced team of highly motivated people. You will have the opportunity to use your experience and skills to help shape and accelerate the growth of our practice.

We engage in assignments across the full EDRM: from preservation and collection to the production of data. We collect data from a variety of data sources pertaining to our regulatory, litigation or investigative engagements.

We utilise industry leading software supplemented with our extensive experience in the industry, we successfully meet the most challenging requirements. Working in our team, we will rely on you to take responsibility for delivering quality results and deploying your technical skills in innovative ways.

At FRP Advisory we are looking for people with a passion for technology who are keen on developing their knowledge and skills within the Forensic Technology industry. This role will suit someone who is self-motivated and ambitious, who enjoys working with a diverse portfolio of clients and engagements. Location and hours
You will be based at FRP Advisory’s office in London. However, travel will be required to capture data at client sites, primarily in the UK.

Our core working hours are 37.5 per week; flexibility is required to meet short term demands.

Job description
As a Forensic practitioner, you will be responsible for delivering on projects which typically include the following activities:
- Capturing data at short notice from systems such as Exchange Email servers, Database systems or Cloud based storage.
- Forensically preserving, collecting and analysing digital evidence from data sources such as computers, servers, mobile devices etc.
- Providing detailed Forensic notes on processes and procedures followed according to industry standards.
- Working directly with clients on investigations, disputes and internal case work in a professional manner.
- Providing deliverables to an uncompromising standard.
- Operating within a diverse, experienced team in a collaborative manner.

General requirements
2 years’ experience in Forensic collections is desirable. Applicants with more Technical Infrastructure experience and an in-depth understanding of Forensic Technology processes and procedures will be considered.

A degree in Computer Science, or similar, is an advantage.

A qualification within the Forensic Technology industry is an advantage, but not essential.
The successful applicant must have a valid UK driving licence and must be permitted to work in the UK. Please kindly note that FRP Advisory is currently not able to provide work permit sponsorship.

Forensic Technology experience
The successful candidate should have experience in the Forensic Technology industry, specifically in the following areas:
- Forensic acquisition of:
- Mobile devices
- Macintosh devices
- File and Email Servers
- Cloud based storage
- Database systems
- Forensic analysis experience is preferable but not essential.
- In-depth understanding of the hardware components within computer systems.
- Thorough understanding of capturing and recording Forensic processes and procedures is essential.
- Proficient in the use of the following software: EnCase, FTK, Oxygen, Cellebrite, XRY, Nuix, Linux based acquisition tools or other industry recognised software.
- Experience in the use of the following hardware: ICS Solo, Logicube Forensic Falcon, Tableau duplicators and write blockers or other industry recognised hardware.

Technical Infrastructure Experience
Candidates with minimal Forensic Technology experience will be considered, providing they have the following skills and experience:
- In-depth understanding of the hardware components within computer systems.
- Strong understanding of capturing data from the following systems:
- Windows and Linux servers
- Exchange Email servers
- Cloud based storage
- Database systems
- VMWare and Hyper-V management.
- Solid understanding of networks, including TCP/IP.
- Programming ability in C#, SQL, EnScript, Shell Scripting is preferable but not essential.
