Role: SQL, Technology Consultant
Location: London

Excellent opportunity to join the Transformation Team of a global consultancy. You may now be working in a similar role or as a Business Analyst or Database Developer either in-house or in a consultancy. Must have really strong SQL experience and familiar with programming like C# and .NET. You are probably looking for your second or third role having already gained 2/3 years out of university and interested in a consulting firm (the role itself is not client facing).

Main Duties:
The responsibilities of this position is to be part of the cross-functional team that manages all areas related to the data collection, migration, processing, analysis, conversion, quality assurance, tracking, and management of client data. In particular:

• Create ad-hoc SQL scripts to convert incoming & outgoing document data into a desired format.
• Utilise your knowledge of technology to advise and support clients and make informed recommendations
• Identify improvement areas in existing workflows. Develop tools and scripts to improve automation and reliability
• Liaise with clients and project managers regarding client requests and manage expectations
• Assume responsibility for day-to-day data processing, conversion, analysis, quality control, import, and other specialised tasks including interaction with other consultants, company directors, and client personnel
• Create SQL scripts and utilise processing applications and tools to meet client requirements or to improve efficiency
• Be customer-service-oriented to meet client deadlines, including working out of business hours when necessary
• Travel as required to ensure effective management of case activities (minimal notice possible)

• 2:1 degree in a technology focused subject such as computer science, information systems or mathematics; or equivalent experience

Skills and Competencies:

• Self-developer that demonstrates an ability to solve complex problems and can provide thought out innovative solutions
• Ability to manage time and prioritise tasks effectively
• Good communicator who can explain technical problems to non-technical colleagues and clients
• Flexible with working hours and has the ability to work in a cross functional team
• Technically savvy with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Windows and related software, especially Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support the team’s goals above individual goals
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while handling multiple tasks through completion

Ideal Experience:
• Demonstrable experience working in a technical role (business analyst, programmer or similar) with detailed working knowledge of SQL or demonstrable experience working in an Digital Forensics/eDiscovery role and desire to work in the technical side of the industry
• Working knowledge of SQL (e.g. MS SQL Oracle, MySQL, etc.)

Desirable (but not essential):
• Knowledge and usage of any document review management application such as, Relativity, Concordance, Summation and Introspect etc.
• Knowledge of and experience in data manipulation, data conversion, and data analysis activities in a SQL database and MS Access
• Programming experience
