Oversee the submission, allocation and management of work within the Digital Forensic Unit for EMSOU DII that are trained and competent to work within a digital forensic environment. The role will also undertake positions intrinsic to ISO 17025 including the position of “Technical Manager” as well as conducting front line digital forensics to ensure you retain competency.

Oversee the submission and management of work in the area of Radio Frequency Propagation Surveys (RFPS) for EMSOU DII. Ensuring staff are trained and competent to work within this area and overseeing the production and quality assurance of intelligence and evidential products.

Coordinate training, development and competency of Digital Media Investigators within EMSOU, ensuring processes are aligned to ISO 17020 standards and operate with a Quality Management System.

To prepare budget estimates and purchase materials for the EMSOU DII, ensuring the highest quality/value from available budgets

To maintain awareness of current research and development within the digital arena including e-forensic, RF and Digital Media Investigation. To develop and implement policies, procedures and best practice to improve their effectiveness within the Force, working closely with local forces as well as other departments within EMSOU DII.

To ensure health and safety procedures/legislation are implemented and monitored within EMSOU DII to protect the safety of staff whilst on duty.

To ensure that staff, other resources and operational activity complies with legislation, policy and best practice and complies with equality, diversity and Human Rights legislation.
