Hello All,

Does any anti-virus or anti-malware installed on the host PC/Laptop affects the functioning of FTK 7.0??? If there is any effect on FTK then on what level it is affected???

Thankyou.

Hello vkskain,

A few quotes from the user guide and install guide

"Important It is strongly recommended to configure antivirus to exclude the database (PostgreSQL, MS SQL) AD temp, source images/loose files, and case folders for performance and data integrity. "

"Important Cerberus writes binaries to the AD Temp folder momentarily in order to perform the malware analysis. Upon completion it will quickly delete the binary. It is important to ensure that your antivirus is not scanning the AD Temp folder. If antivirus deletes/Quarantines the binary from the temp Cerberus analysis will not be performed."

"McAfee Virus Scan must have an exception added for processes added to and run from the Temp Directory."

"Note AccessData recommends that you turn off firewalls and anti-virus software during installation." <— I would not recommend this btw, but depends on how isolated your machine is.

I hope that helps.
