You may think you dont have time nor the basic mathematical high-level education to become a cryptographer. But - jump and dive deep with full crash ahead. Look into 'On Round Optimal Statistical Zero Knowledge Arguments' at Crypto 2019. You will not die.

Try to understand what is the challenge behind and adapt to your real life.

Nobody too old to become a cryptocrack -)

We've surely hit a limit by now right?

I mean, come on, it's mostly nonsensical at this point.

I thought so too, but then I thought, what if this is the greatest non stop trolling ever.
Username TinyBrain, keeps posting after being asked not to, posts same content in multiple forums.

You must be joking, the limit has been hit, re-hit, beaten to death and the then dead limit beaten again and again countless times by now.

Are you taking my name in vain? 😯

Or is it a clever CCFWC (Cryptographic Challenge for Wannabee Cryptographers)?

No Jaclaz, that would be rude and disrespectful to do so.

Your observation above is, in fact, a far more useful way TB could have engaged with FF readers instead of making the quote

On Round Optimal Statistical Zero Knowledge Arguments' at Crypto 2019

with no link as to the website readers might want to visit to understand what TB is talking about.

Anyone who has zero-knowledge or low-level understanding about cryptography may find it extremely difficult to engage with TB when you look the content at Crypto 2019 - https://crypto.iacr.org/2019/acceptedpapers.html e.g. 'Statistical Zeroizing Attack Cryptanalysis of Candidates of BP Obfuscation over GGH15 Multilinear Map' ?

To make some use of this post (now that it exists) there are many well known books available on the subject of Cryptography; two useful books to know

1) Chey Cobb Cryptography For Dummies ISBN 0764541889 (2004)

2) Nigel Smart Cryptography Made Simple ISBN 978-3-319-21935-6, ISBN 978-3-319-21936-3 (eBook) (2016).

The years 2004 and 2016 period gives the reader a chance to learn of new developments (if any) that might have occurred over 12-years and whether they impact on the understanding on the basics of cryptography, or not. There are other well know books, as I said previously, I could mention but as a starting point the above are worth considering.

Moreover, given the broad church of practitioners and participants on FF it might have been helpful for the OP to have pointed out that cryptography is a subject matter in digital forensics and incident response (DFIR) and so on. CISSP exam has a supporting study guide that includes Cryptography (ISC2 CBK https://www.isc2.org/) and in the US there is a course about encountering encryption in digital forensics (https://niccs.us-cert.gov/training/search/champlain-college-online/digital-forensics-and-encryption)….

OP Start

RE Shortcut 2 become a cryptographer

OP End

RE stupid conversations following

TB if your posts structure a Fujisaki-Okamoto transform format, your crypto posts can fail as they do not ensure H (Enc asy/pk) is collision-resistant

Enc hy/pk ( m; δ) = Enc asy/pk δ; H δk Enc Gsy( δ)(m) , Enc sy/G ( δ)(m)

If FF had kill lists, mine would now have two entries …
