Hi Guys,
Does anybody know if Katana Forensics, vendor of the Lantern forensic software is still operational?
I was trying to extend a license but their website appears down.

Back in May, someone tweeted at them asking what was going on with their online store (404 error) and they said it was "down for maintenance". They haven't tweeted since then.
I was trying to extend a license but their website appears down.
Having never really used the tool, whats the appeal in extending the license instead of using a competitors tool?
as in, what does it do better than the other tools?

Thanks for the feedback guys.
The tool had some benefits to me. It is a relatively lightweight tool that runs on the Mac OS. Also, I had good results with acquiring data through the escrow keybag option, where several higher priced Windows tools failed.

I too have been curious as to what has happened. I messaged their Linkedin page and got no response.

Belkasoft has a competitive replacement program for Katana users. You can obtain full Belkasoft license at the price of Katana renewal. If you are interested, please reach us at sales@belkasoft.com@belkasoft.com">sales@belkasoft.com.
We had there software way back. had gotten a free year demo. After a week or so uninstalled it. Was completely useless.
The software itself ceased to be useful once iOS 10 was released. Coupled with the fact that the owner and his wife are two of the rudest people you will ever encounter it can be assumed Katana died a rightly deserved death. All kinds of horror stories on other forums about software and hardware being purchased and not shipped, terrible tech support.
Good riddance, Mr Morrissey and co.
Looks like it all shut down around the time Mr Morrissey got a job working for Stroz last February.
