Mobile phone project Idea's

Post Posted: Sep 28, 09 18:24

Afternoon,

I am looking to start a project as part of my CF course. As I have an interest in mobile phone forensics, it would be nice to base my project on this. So I am wondering if anyone has any thoughts or ideas on the security aspects of mobile telephony? Perhaps looking at something like CellCrypt?

I'm hoping to produce either a piece of software or a how-to guide

I do have a idea. Please send me e-mail and let me know about your e-mail. We could discuss it more in detail. My e-mail is luludaniel @ dreamwiz.com.

My company is involved with handling data communications and services for a number of major clients. We had identified a particular security risk and wanted to make sure our personnel who had handsets issued didn't remove the issued SIM card. We looked at SIMs being glued in but that idea involved complications. Greg from Trew MTE came up with a way and developed a system for us that when the issued SIM had been removed and when put back in the handset again an SMS text message was secretly sent so us so that we could monitor any strange activity with work related phones without the personnel knowing.

What about something along the lines of a hidden log that records bluetooth activity with the handset and the log identifies the other terminal (IMEI / make/model using AT+C), the key number, data bytes, which folder the data was taken and that type of information.

There is a PM on its way to you. Smile
