Dear all,
A colleague of mine has set up the Northern Cybercrime Forensics Group. Meetings of this group will begin shortly in Manchester. If anyone is interested please visit
Thanks.
Sorry to be off-topic, but I do find the term 'cybercrime' to be a bit inappropriate! The British Computer Society chose the same 'cybercrime' name for their digital forensics sub-group, so I guess I'm in the minority.
The word 'cyber' is antiquated along with terms like 'information superhighway' or 'infobahn' and recalls 56k modems, AOL CDs falling out of every magazine and Word Perfect. Moreover 'crime' is not relevant for a lot of forensic practitioners as they deal with cases where the police/prosecuting bodies are never involved, such as inappropriate use.
Ranty rant rant. Feel better for it though. wink
Slow day Jonathan?
Slow day Jonathan?

Are you hinting that I should replace my green phosphor monitor for one of those flattish thingies with COLOURS? 😯
Why, in my day….
