Have any of you ever heard of or received a Nokia to examine which when powered on presents 'Contact Service' (or similar) and does not power on fully allowing an examination to be conducted?
I can see from various posts on the web that it could be down to loose connections on the board or corrupt firmware etc. I am really looking to establish if anybody has found a way to correct this without having to erase and re-write the entire flash.
On a side note, if the entire flash was erased and re-written do you think that this would include the complete flash chip and thus include any tables and records (i.e. user data) from the handset or would it be only the OS which is removed and replaced?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts/experiences.
