Post Posted: Dec 20, 04 14:57

Hi All - information needed

I am pulling togther information on sample training modules and courses in a) basic evidence gathering and b) lab set up - can anyone provide any information on modules they offer training or consultancy in. Or if there is anyone who offers these types of courses to organisations and/or individuals.

well we are looking to send our own investigators and trainee investigators on accreditation courses and in the future we are looking at setting up training courses in a more formal way. We offer training at the moment but mainly to individuals on a 1-1 basis. I am trying to find out who offers the best courses for us, based in the UK.

Andy,

You might want to contact Stefan Fleischmann ([email protected]). Stefan is the guy who owns WinHex, WinHex forensics, and several other forensic prducts. As I recall he lives in Germany and has many classes in Europe. I happen to be attending a 4 day session he is giving in Seattle later this month.

Andy, I think we may have covered some of your requirements in other posts - check out the Training and sub menus.

There are many courses that offer creditation. The Royal Military College of Science - Cranfield University, offers short courses in Forensic Computing. The stuff you ask about is covered during the 2 week Forensic Computing Foundation course. Its about as credible as a course could be, and pretty tough to pass the exam at the end. Only drawbacks are - it may be only available to law enforcement (you may have to ask them about this), and the price (about £2500).
