Credit Card Skimmers

Post Posted: Jul 05, 06 14:28

some help/recommendations please.

Can anyone direct me to companies in the UK that can help with the investigation of card skimming equipment/activities? I have a new case coming in that requires the analysis of the memory of the chips in the card skimmers/false ATM fronts.

Thanks

Hi Andy,

Contact Nick at Celt - it's their speciality.

Yep, everything's fine at QCC. Smile

Will be at Portishead next week for the F3 day on FTK 2.0 - are you/other board members intending on going?

no we'll be missing that one Jonathan, though if you could mail me after I would appreiciate.

Things are going bonkers here - you may have heard that the Police are using these new headcam systems - www.intelcam.co.uk - we are the sole suppliers! well every force in the country is buying them so we are all hands to the pumps as well as trying to juggle numerous forensic projects.

Have you seend them before in the press?

Looks very interesting; Robocop here we come! Should save a lot of time/resources for the police in helping to prove/disprove what took place.

Are the two pics on the top left a representation of it in action? Real life = a friendly chat, but cunningly the guy who the officer is talking to is being recorded as a riot pariticpant! Wink

Will give you an update on the FTK 2.0 talk; I'm a fan of the 1.x product due to its indexing capability and far greater stability over EnCase so look forward to the next version. Hopefully it will challenge EnCase's dominant position.

not quite - they are ordinary camera stills its MPEG4 video and audio so it's as good if nnot better that your home digital vdie and it stores 400 hours of video in its 100 gig HDD - it has a time and date stamp as well.

thanks for the FTK upate - look forward to it.
