Paraben Launches Industry First IoT Forensic Training At NATO Cyber School

Breaking the Boundaries of Digital Data

Paraben has been pushing the edge of innovation with the addition of support for IoT devices and data since Oct 2016 with the release of the first tool to support DJI Drones. That focus and support has only grown since then with support for additional IoT items such as Android wearables, the popular fitness band Fitbit, and also support for Xbox gaming systems and Amazon Echo devices.

With all great innovation, the sharing of that information is crucial and Paraben has created a 3-day IoT and Smartphone forensic course that focuses on that. Each of the primary hubs used in IoT as well as the 9 IoT environments are discussed in the class. “When we designed this class we really wanted to get students thinking differently about their digital evidence. IoT really pushes the boundaries of our traditional view of digital evidence as that data can exist in so many different locations.” stated Amber Schroader, CEO and course designer.

IoT is growing by applications and services are growing by leaps and bounds. Boston Consulting Group predicts that $267 billion will be spent on IoT by 2020. It is only a matter of time before these devices start appearing in more and more investigations. Paraben is forging into the future with solutions ready to tackle the next devices and data for digital forensics.

Paraben has always had a unique approach focusing on areas that not every digital forensic software company noticed. Those nooks and crannies of digital evidence have been pivotal to cases being closed. Paraben provided the digital forensic community the first tool for the acquisition and analysis of mobile devices back in 2001 and has continued to edge out others with its cutting-edge research.

About Paraben Corporation:

Since 2001 Paraben has been a foundation in solutions for mobile devices, smartphones, email, hard drives, and gaming system forensics. Paraben has been forging ahead to develop new approaches for dealing with digital evidence. Paraben’s focus on mobility led to many other areas of innovation including the research and development into the Internet of Things (IoT) with the Forensics of EverythingTM (FoE). Paraben supports logical and physical images with mobile devices and 100% of the smartphones on the market. In addition, Paraben can add to an existing arsenal with specialized tools for unique data such as network email servers, local email archives, internet related data, and gaming systems. Paraben provides software with a unified vision and interface for dealing with all types of digital data. From start to finish Paraben offers solutions that can build new capabilities into any digital investigation.
